An auto-switch for Computer Peripherals

Compswitch is designed to switch on/off all computer peripherals automatically with a computer, when it is plugged into the ‘computer’ socket. It will mimic exactly the ‘power-out’ connector you may remember on IBM AT computers. This connector was on early IBM ATX systems, but is now generally not available.

Compswitch has one socket marked ‘computer‘, nearest the fuse. Plug a computer into this socket.

There are three more sockets marked ‘switched‘. Into these sockets connect peripherals, ie

Adaptors can be used on these three sockets if needed.      All sockets are standard UK 3pin.

Maximum power on the ‘computer’ socket is 400 watts, and at least 10 watts is needed to switch on the ‘switched’ sockets.  Maximum switched power is 1000w, with overall capacity (all 4 sockets) of 1100W.          Compswitch comes with a 2 metre cable and 5a fuse. 

Compswitch will  not work correctly with computers that have a very low power consumption  (eg laptops).     It may not function with devices like TVs with a high current standby.   There is an adjustor to help cope with this situation, but is only guaranteed to function with ATX desktop computers.

Compswitch should work with any appliance in the 'computer' socket - ie lights, hifi etc, as long as the minimum current taken by the appliance is sufficient.

Compswitch with Computer Cleaner

Computer Cleaner is the original mains filter introduced in 1985 for the Sinclair QL, but suitable for all computers and mains sensitive equipment (HiFi etc). Incorporates series in-line inductance on L/N, 3 spike filters (L/N, L/E, N/E), delta capacitor (L/N/ E). L/N capacitor boosted to over 300nF.

This product has all the features of both products, but with the power output limitations of Compswitch.
