With respect to the conversation we had on Sunday 22nd Feb at the the QUANTA workshop
in which you mentioned that you are thinking of an improved front end for
Oliver Finks Basconfig Enclosed on this disk in the accompanying zip files
are two different developments of the original idea. the file basconf101_zip
contains a version which can create config entries which enables menuconfug to search for files
extensions and directories. The file basconf110_zip contains code which enables long integer options
and also fixes a few bugs. I suggest a confluation of the two with the cfg_bin in the second zip file
being the basis of the whole project. Also included for general use a file called Sreset_bin which when added
as a module to smsq/e enables safe keyboard reseting when you have Superhermes pressent it will
fall over on ordinary 8049s not tested with straight Hermes use at your own risk.
A hacked version of Jochen Merzs module add program is also included it requires menu extensions
to produce a slightly more user friendly frontend.

                                                                              David Gilham

Addition by Roy:

sreset_bin is an SMSQ/E module which can be linked into the main SMSQ/E
prooram to giev a soft reset. This is achieved by using a program
'modaddh_bas' which is an improved version of Jochen Merz's module add program
using the menu extensions to give a friendlier front end. If you run the
modaddh_bas program you will be prompted for a version of SMSQ/E to add the
module to, and then for the module to add. You will also be given the
opportunity to rename the resulting file so as not to destroy your normal
version if it fails to work as expected. The module will fail on the normal
8049 chip and has not been tested on a straight Hermes, but both of these
versions allow soft resets with CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-TAB combination.

The same module modaddh_bas can also be used to add the superHermes extensions
to SMSQ/E so that you will always start up with the keyboard available.

USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND NEVER MODIFY MASTER FILES WITH THIS PROGRAM! YOU
HAVE BEEN WARNED
